Vintage Summer
Lately, I’ve been drawn to intertwining the melancholy of my collages with the current summer vibe. I’m interested in altering the summer color palette that exists in my mind—vibrant, bright, even neon tones that evoke the fun and adventure this season usually brings. Maybe I’ve been influenced by what I’ve learned through personal color analysis—the summer palette I now envision is much softer and dustier, a look that resonates more with the language of my work.
I’ve been craving a slower kind of summer—quiet, solitary, and nostalgic. Not an escape from everyday life, but rather a chance to be alone with your thoughts, a moment of introspection. Much like in Éric Rohmer’s films, where vacation days are simple yet emotionally rich. That’s the space I want to stay in: a vintage summer of inner landscapes, one that pairs well with music that doesn’t burst but floats gently, blending with the sound of the wind and the waves.

Here’s a playlist I made for my kind of summer. Songs for when you’re feeling a bit sad, but the sun is still shining on you.
